Who we are

Talent Management supports employees through every stage of their career journey at USC, from strategically recruiting to developing and retaining best-in-class talent. The Talent Acquisition team finds top professionals to welcome into the Trojan community, after which their career growth is facilitated by Learning & Organizational Development. Talent Management supports employees in recognizing and maximizing their potential.

What we do

Talent Acquisition

The Talent Acquisition team is at the forefront of identifying, recruiting, and retaining top-tier Trojan talent. From strategic outreach to innovative recruitment strategies, the Talent Acquisition team provides the opportunity for candidates to have a seamless experience when joining the USC community. The team provides the following services for the departments and schools requesting support:

  • Targeted recruitment strategies tailored to a school’s or unit’s needs, USC’s objectives, and workforce requirements.
  • Comprehensive job analyses, marketing and advertising plans, and design of compelling job postings in collaboration with hiring managers by outlining roles, qualifications, and clear expectations.
  • Sourcing for potential candidates utilizing diverse channels such as job boards, AI technologies, social media platforms, professional networks, and referrals.
  • Coordinate interview schedules and manage the offer process, providing assistance to candidates and hiring managers in negotiations and acceptance procedures.
  • Full cycle executive and professional search services as well as customized support (e.g., resume review, initial interviews, and assessment of qualifications and skills) aimed at identifying and securing top-tier executive and leadership talent, including occasionally collaborating with and managing external search firms.
  • Compliance services include employment screening, fingerprinting, licensing and certification, and independent contractor programs. The compliance team handles processing, inquiries, system operations, procedures, and training.

Learning & Organizational Development

Learning & Organizational Development offers a broad range of services that support employees, managers, and teams at all phases of the employee lifecycle. This team uses a holistic approach to consultation and solution design, working to ensure that their products and intervention will effectively address the area of further opportunity.

Services are organized under four practice areas: Onboarding & Engagement, Learning Solutions, Workforce Planning & Talent Development, and Organizational Development & Assessment.  Services these practice areas provide include:

  • USC Orientation and Onboarding programs, including departmental-level toolkits
  • Employee Recognition Program manager, which includes service awards events, retirement events, service gifts, and recognition toolkits
  • Learning solutions consultation that goes from solution determination, content design and development, facilitation, and learning evaluation
  • Professional, Management, and Leadership Development programs
  • Workforce and Succession Planning
  • Department-level workshops in conjunction with assessments such as DISC, SDI, or Eqi 2.0
  • Performance Management workshops and toolkits
  • Departmental assessments and consultation
  • Assessment design and analysis (i.e., internal surveys, customer experience surveys)
