Instilling university-wide cohesiveness and integrating legal requirements with the Licensing and Certifications project
The Licensing and Certifications project is implementing a uniform process for collecting, validating, and renewing licenses and certifications that are required for applicable employee positions. Utilizing an enhanced functionality in Workday to simplify the process of license and certification renewal and submission for employees, it also allows HR team members track and ensure the complete submission of these requirements.
In 2023, the process successfully rolled out to the Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy, Department of Public Safety, Department of Fire Safety and Emergency Planning, Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry, Keck School of Medicine, Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, Office of the General Counsel, School for Early Childhood Education, and Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, improving the monitoring of license and certification renewals of more than 800 employees.
As of Nov. 2023, more than 2,000 licenses and certifications have been updated.
The project will continue with additional units and schools in 2024, and the updated Licensing and Certification policy can be viewed on the USC Policies website.
