Delivering expanded resources to support every stage of a manager’s journey
In an effort to continue to empower managers who supervise USC staff with professional development resources, in spring 2025, University HR distributed a new Manager Resource Guide. This four-week, self-guided learning resource – covering managerial excellence, important policies, Workday, navigating USC and the higher education landscape, and helpful university contacts – helps managers align their daily practices with the university’s mission and Unifying Values.
Shortly after, the Manager Gateway website was refreshed with a whole new look and layout. Utilizing feedback and input from teams across HR, as well as data analytics to understand what’s important to managers, the new site features an AI-powered search for easier resource access and an improved structure covering every stage of the managerial journey – from hiring and onboarding to development. The site also features a messages section, hosting the latest emails sent by units university-wide to keep managers in-the-know.
The launch of the refreshed Manager Gateway and Manager Resource Guide are part of a broader, ongoing effort to develop strong, confident leaders across the university. With these tools, managers are equipped with the guidance and support needed to grow, lead effectively, and foster excellence at USC.
